My new 2024 planners and calendars are out and I'm so proud of them! I really considered all the details and Amber Lotus, my client, really let me run with all my ideas. Both are filled with reminders of positivity and joy. I had the pleasure of designing some 2023 calendars with them, but this year we’ve also added planners — expect to spend a thoughtful year with me, with buried treasures, if you pick one (or both!) of them up! They’re available in shops but here’s an easy link if you want to pick them up online.
welcome to my colorverse!
Apart from my friends, Casa Elizabeth kinda feels like the great love of my life. It’s been almost 2 years since I entered this blank canvas and made it mine-all-mine. It’s been the best design project, inspiration, creative playground, and the ultimate exploration of color. I have to tell you — the power of color is REAL. It’s hard not to feel uplifted in a sun-colored space. Buying an apartment as a Canadian living in Portugal came with its challenges but every effort was worth it because after 4 years of living in furnished apartments, I was finally able to create a home of my own. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more at home in a space before. It’s my sanctuary.
And part of the fun of creating this space was going on the hunt to fill it with well-chosen things. Portugal is known for it’s excellent craftsmanship and I really wanted to find as much local design as I could and by some cosmic force, I was put into communion with the amazing team at Santo Infante. They are architects and interior designers, and specialists in Portuguese design, and they helped me find so many of my favourite pieces. And because they know all the makers, I was even able to choose my own custom colors for things, like my perfect emerald green sofa (that we asked them to make inside out, because the inside of the fabric was more vibrant!). It was such an adventure and I was so lucky to work with this dream team.
It really has felt like a special moment in time, so I had my friend Egle Duleckytė come over to photograph the my colorverse (aren’t the photos amazing? We had so much fun!), and it was such an amazing exercise to take a step back and look at this life, and so many of the products I’ve designed looking like they’ve found their ultimate place of belonging. And it’s a beautiful thing because ulimately, isn’t that what we all want?

new course for domestika!
I’m so excited to share that my new Domestika course has launched! I’m really proud of the class — it's all about creating Playful Patterns for the Home and I put sooo much love into it. I will teach you how to create patterns and illustrations (in inspired colorways — we will dive into color in this one!) and how to think about it in relation to Home Decor. I truly feel that this way of ‘thinking about the end product’ will translate to any medium — the same principles apply — but Casa Elizabeth has been such an inspiration to and playground for me, so I really wanted to share this passion for interiors. I encourage a mindful approach, taking your time to craft something special. I hope you enjoy it, and that we will spend some nice time together in that space. Thank you to the sweet angels at Domestika (Vicente, Manu, Violeta, Daniela y Maria!) who conspired with me and made me feel so at home — I worked with the best team! It feels a bit tacky to say, but Domestika encourages teachers to let their students know this: if you click the link I provide — I get a MUCH bigger piece of the royalty pie so if you feel like profit-sharing in my direction, I’d be so grateful. Thank you and I hope you love the course!
