Inner Nature

Opening: Friday, March 20 at 18:30h
119 Marvila Studios
Rua de Marvila 119, Lisbon
I’m so excited to share something really special that has been quietly developing in my inner world.
A little while ago, I was invited by my brilliant friend Sandra — gallerist, curator, and architect of 119 Marvila Studios here in Lisbon — to do a solo exhibition at her gallery. I was over the moon. And honestly, the fact that I said yes feels new to me. Previous versions of me might have shied away from something like this. But this version of me feels ready. It feels like something I’ve been quietly working toward for a long time, even without realizing it.
Now, just days before the opening, I’m trying to savor this sweet moment of before. That feeling of almost. The exhilaration of stepping into new territory and allowing myself to receive the love and support of the people in my life who have been so incredibly excited for me.
The show is called Inner Nature, and it explores the quiet conversations I have with the natural world.
When I look at the land with curiosity and presence — not just scanning it casually, but really engaging with it — something begins to speak. The landscapes, clouds, mountains, rivers, and oceans become mirrors that reveal something about my own inner nature.
Nature offers constant guidance. Seaweed moving with the tides shows me an effortless dance with change — not resisting the flow of life, but moving with it. Mountains embody stillness and presence. Volcanoes reveal the wisdom of release, reminding us that pressure builds within the earth until it must be expressed.
These natural processes have become metaphors for my own inner journey. Throughout the work are themes of resilience, surrender, integration, letting go, following wonder, allowing ourselves to be held, and rising again. Snakes appear as symbols of transformation — shedding old skins to make space for who we are becoming.
Color is the language through which these feelings move through me. A landscape may technically be green or brown, but what I experience internally is emotional color — the sensation of a place translated into vibrant, intuitive palettes. The paintings aren’t literal depictions of the land, but expressions of what the land reveals to me when I meet it with openness and attention.
All of the works in Inner Nature were created slowly and entirely by hand. They’re intuitive, heart-led responses to the quiet teachings nature offers when I slow down and listen.
Ultimately, this collection is an act of honoring the intelligence of the natural world — and the ways it continually shows us how to live, adapt, and transform.
If you’re in Lisbon, I would absolutely love to see you there.
This already feels like such a meaningful milestone for me, and I can’t wait to share the work with you.
